spring fever.

It’s 57° and sunny in Ames.  It’s officially springtime at Iowa State.  Everyone is running around in shorts and tanks, getting amped for the upcoming season.  I took advantage of this beautiful day and wore my new peplum top and cropped skinnies.  I’m so excited about these recent purchases–not only are they totally on trend, but they’re staple items for the college fashionista and can be worn in dozens of ways.  Today I really wanted to show that you can stay on trend this Spring, even if you’re on a tight budget.  This entire ensemble costs less than $75.  The best part is that since they’re investment pieces, you can get so much use out of them and wear them across multiple seasons.

Cost Breakdown

Peplum: $10

Denim: $27

Sunglasses: $6

Belt: $5 (on sale)

Flats: $20

Earrings, Bangle: already owned.

Total: $68

Not too shabby for a spring style that is flirty and feminine.  This look is confident and sophisticated and bound to turn a few heads.
