give me that red, white and blue

Happy last day of June! Can you believe the year is already half way over?  So much has happened over the past six months, and I’m definitely ready to leave for vacation this Friday.  Hello, Colorado.

With America’s favorite holiday coming up in just four days, people of all ages are preparing themselves for barbecues, fireworks, bag board, and family gatherings to fill their weekends.  Although the 4th of July has become more about getting drunk and yelling “Merica!” whilst wearing an American flag than actually celebrating our country’s freedom, I’d like to think there is a classier way to spend the day.  Although I do hold an opinion on the activities of Independence Day, I’ll stick to the fashion for today.

If you’re looking to upgrade your 4th of July style, look no further.  You don’t have to wear an American flag tee to show your spirit, in fact, there are much classier [and more stylish] options to celebrate the day.  Ali and I are sporting two different ways to look stylish and festive for the holiday.  Ali went a more feminine and pretty route, where I opted for a sporty and preppy approach.  Ali mixed her patterns with anchors and stripes, topping of her look with strappy red sandals.  I paired my striped polo with navy shorts and white tennies.  We packed a bag and hung out at The Terrace for the afternoon.

On Kaylee: Lands’ End Polo | Old Navy Twill Shorts | Vans Lo Pro Tennis Shoes | Francesca’s Watch | Lands’ End Canvas Tote | Vintage Earrings

On Ali: J. Crew Factory Anchor Tee | Striped Skirt (similar) |  American Eagle Sandals | Lauren Conrad Earrings | Ralph Lauren Throw Blanket

How are you mixing up your wardrobe for this 4th of July?

Until next time–
